Superstar Leo und Superstar Virgo — stairs
The antique-looking pool areas on the Superstar ships have a central deck area containing the actual pool and beach zone which is considerably higher than the surrounding deck level.
Passengers reach the pool via numerous stairs positioned on three sides of the raised deck area. The steps and the shower bays project as semicircles from the raised deck. The use of GRP platforms and steps as a backing for the floor tiles of the pool area enabled the structural steelwork to be kept very simple. Here again, like with all composite materials on upper decks, the reduction in weight was significant.
