Production and assembly of a 40 m diameter rotating GRP cover for the secondary settlement tank of an industrial waste-water treatment plant.
Technical features
The addition of an odour-proof GRP cover 40 m in diameter to a waste-water treatment plant already in operation – which due to technical and constructional requirements has to rotate with the desludging bridge – placed high demands on the design, construction and coordination of diverse trades.Easy integration into the existing structure and plant, quick installation and minimum weight were the factors determining the design of the GRP cover made from half-cylinder shells, flat covers and inspection gangways plus the loadbearing steel girders.
The base materials used and the quality of workmanship guarantee that all parts of the covers will exhibit a high resistance to chemicals and the weather for many decades.
